The Short Answer

Single panel replacements typically run $150 to $400 per panel. A full rescreen of an average St. Petersburg pool cage usually lands between $3,000 and $6,000. New screen enclosures start around $8,000 and climb with size, height, and features. Treat every number here as a starting point — your written estimate, after someone looks at your enclosure, is the real number.

What a Panel Replacement Costs

This is the smallest job in the trade: one to a few torn screens cut out and re-rolled. Price depends on panel size (roof panels are bigger than wall panels), how high the panel is (ladders and staging cost time), and how many you do at once — the per-panel price drops when we do several in one visit. Most single-panel jobs fall in the $150 to $400 range.

What a Full Rescreen Costs

What a New Enclosure Costs

New patio screen enclosures are construction, not repair — engineered aluminum framing, concrete footers, permits, and screens. In Pinellas County, most residential projects land between $8,000 and $15,000, with larger or taller designs going higher. The permit and engineering side is a real part of the cost here: Florida wind codes are strict, and the enclosure has to be engineered for the wind zone.

How to Compare Quotes

Get at least two written quotes and check that they describe the same job: which mesh (18/14? 20/20? pet-resistant?), how many panels, whether doors and hardware are included, and whether old mesh and debris get hauled away. A quote that does not name the mesh type is not a complete quote. Our contractor-choosing guide lists the exact questions to ask.

Frequently Asked Questions

Why is one panel $300 but a full rescreen only $4,000?

Fixed costs. Every visit has setup, travel, and minimum labor — one panel carries all of it. A full rescreen spreads those costs across dozens of panels, so the per-panel price drops a lot.

Does insurance cover screen damage?

Sometimes — storm damage to enclosures is often covered under homeowners policies, but deductibles and exclusions vary. Our insurance claims guide explains how homeowners usually handle it. We are not insurance adjusters; talk to your agent.

Can I buy the mesh myself and just pay for labor?

You can, but we do not recommend it. Mesh quality varies a lot, and the wrong type for your panel (too heavy for a door, too light for a big roof panel) causes callbacks. We supply the mesh and stand behind the whole job.
